What the operator says
Catamaran Equipment – The Lagoon 380 S2 in Detail The Lagoon 380 S2 catamaran ("Discovery") is designed with a focus on safety, functionality, and comfort. Its twin-hull construction provides exceptional stability and a spacious interior often lacking in monohull boats. Nothing is left to chance when it comes to the onboard technology – all systems are professionally maintained. Here you will find detailed information on the features and special characteristics. Salon & Pantry – Single-level living The saloon: Offers 360-degree panoramic views and remains pleasantly cool thanks to vertical windows. The chart table for navigation is also located here. The galley: Cooking with a sea view. The catamaran's equipment includes a 3-burner stove, oven, and a spacious refrigerator. Dishwashing area: Instead of the standard solution, an extra-large sink was installed, making it easier to wash pots and pans. A seawater foot pump is also provided. Practical: You can pass food and drinks directly out into the cockpit through the sliding window. 4 cabins & 2 bathrooms – comfort below deck Sleeping: Four double cabins offer privacy and storage space. Thanks to deck hatches and side portholes, effective cross-ventilation is guaranteed – important for good air quality on warm nights. Sanitary facilities: Each hull has a centrally located wet cell (2 in total). They are equipped with a manual marine toilet, holding tanks, sink and shower (hot/cold water). Easy to clean: The GRP surfaces in the wet rooms are robust and easy to keep hygienically clean. Catamaran outdoor equipment The exterior of the Lagoon 380 S2 is functionally designed while offering plenty of space to relax. The large cockpit area with a fixed bimini provides shade and protection in all weather conditions. A wide bench seat, a folding table, and side storage compartments complete the catamaran's deck amenities. The helm is equipped with all relevant instruments: autopilot, GPS plotter, wind and depth sounders, and a VHF radio. The sail controls are centrally located, making operation easier even with a small crew. Double railings, wide side decks, and non-slip flooring provide added safety. A dinghy with an outboard motor, a swim platform with a ladder, and a deck shower complete the practical exterior amenities of this catamaran. 100% self-sufficient – independent of ports I specifically enhanced the technical equipment of the Discovery catamaran to ensure complete independence at sea. We don't need to stop at expensive and crowded marinas to refuel with water or electricity; instead, we can stay where it's most beautiful: in the bay. Electricity: A high-performance solar system, along with large battery banks, provides energy. A powerful inverter delivers 220 volts on board, so laptops and chargers can easily run even at anchor. Water: Thanks to our own watermaker , we produce our fresh water directly on board. Freedom: This self-sufficiency guarantees you the maximum nature experience without the obligation to head for a port every evening. Safety first – The German Ship Safety Certificate A key difference compared to many other local providers: The Discovery sails under the German flag and is therefore subject to the strictest controls. The catamaran's equipment includes the German Ship Safety Certificate issued by BG Verkehr. The standard: This test can be compared to the TÜV inspection for cars, however, the approval process for commercial shipping is much more extensive and stricter . The schedule: Every 2 years the ship undergoes a complete inspection. The scope: The hull structure, rigging, engines, fire protection, rescue equipment and the entire electrical system are inspected. This means: Maximum safety on a technically inspected ship according to German standards.
